Singapore added to Foals’ 5-date Asian tour

Singapore has stepped in as a replacement date for English indie rock band Foals this March, upon the cancellation of Bangkok’s Silverlake Music Festival.

This follows the announcement of the band’s KL show as part of the launch of a new series of live shows in Malaysia called Upfront Arena. It is certainly shaping up to be an exciting month, with a slew of gigs including the Mosaic Music Festival, Baths, Fantastic Day, Future Music Festival Asia, and Au Revoire Simone occurring within the month.

Following the success of their second album, Total Life Forever, Foals has gone on to win NME’s Best Track Award for ‘Spanish Sahara’, before bagging the award again in 2013 for ‘Inhaler’, the lead single off their third and most recent album, Holy Fire — but they don’t stop there.

In 2012, the band released Tapes, a dancefloor oriented mixtape as part of the K7! series, showcasing their taste in electronic music. As some might know, keyboardist Edwin Congreave DJs and releases house music under a record label that he runs with Jack Savidge of Friendly Fires.

Foals will tour Asia on the back of their UK dates, with three shows in Japan before heading to Singapore and KL. It will be the band’s second time in Singapore since their performance at the inaugural Laneway Festival Singapore in 2011.
